The DOCU/PRO industry platform was created to promote Ukrainian documentary films, support the Ukrainian film community, and establish links with international documentary experts.
THE PROGRAMME OF SPECIALISED EVENTS OF DOCU/PRO 2024, WHICH TOOK PLACE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE 21st DOCUDAYS UA:
Thirteen powerful discussions, workshops, and networking meetings for the industry took place from June 1 to 6. Among them was a public conversation where, together with representatives of different cultural fields, we discussed how to discuss the war abroad effectively; we understood the intricacies of editing, sound, distribution on the European market, and film ownership. We talked about the possibilities of cooperation between the broadcaster Suspilne Ukraine and Ukrainian independent film producers; we traditionally invited the directors of the DOCU/UKRAINE competition and the director Maryna Stepanska to a public conversation.
This year, we also brought back Meet Professionals — meetings with sales agents and broadcasters, as well as a representative of The Guardian Documentaries.
For the first time, the DOCU/PRO platform hosted the RAW DOCS programme, created for filmmakers working on their film rafflecopters who want to hold a test screening for international industry experts and get professional feedback. During the private screenings, the participants could talk to potential partners, including representatives of European public broadcasters, sales agents, and festivals.
