Biography

Zlata Veresniak is a filmmaker born and raised in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine. In her latest films, she focuses on the study of the present-day reality of displaced persons and refugees.

Zlata studied Journalism and Social Communication at the Wroclaw University in Poland, and film directing at the Thessaloniki University in Greece. 

Her debut fiction film Ada, featured in many programmes, received the Grand Prix of the Vernon Film Festival (France). 

Currently, Zlata is pursuing her master’s in documentary film directing within the DocNomads programe as an Erasmus Mundus fellow. Additionally, she is a participant in the documentary directing program First Film at the Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation in Poland. In 2023, Zlata was nominated for the city cultural award in Wroclaw, Poland  WARTO, in the film category.
