This film is about the phenomenon of Izolyatzia. First a factory, then an art center, then a prison. It is in this historical sequence that the uniqueness of this plot lies. It is difficult to find anything else like this, anything that would combine the working class, creative intelligentsia, modern art, oligarchs, executioners and victims. A place where political events of incredible scale would intersect: the collapse of an empire, the creation of a new state, revolutions and war. And if we talk about the people who survived all these cataclysms, who survived at every turn of history, who found ideas and opportunities to start from scratch, it is difficult to imagine another era when it would be possible.
