We are starting to announce this year's festival jury! Meet the experts who will select the winning films of DOCU/WORLD, the international competition for feature and medium-length documentaries.
The DOCU/WORLD jury includes James Berklaz-Lewis, co-head of programming at Visions du Réel and programmer at the Vevey International Funny Film Festival; Maryna Stepanska, a filmmaker and screenwriter; and Alexandre Marionneau, head of international coproductions for the Society and Culture Department at ARTE.
As a reminder, the DOCU/WORLD international competition will feature creative documentaries addressing ethical and legal issues through expressive artistic means.
He is co-head of programming at Visions du Réel and programmer at the Vevey International Funny Film Festival. Before that, he was the general coordinator of the FIFDH in Geneva from 2016 to 2020 before joining the programming team of the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival until 2023.
A filmmaker and screenwriter. Her feature debut, "Falling," received several awards at international film festivals and three National "Golden Dzyga" awards in 2017-18. She is a co-writer of a few feature films; the last one is "Forever-Forever," directed by Anna Buriachkova and premiered at Venice IFF in 2023.
He graduated from CELSA (Paris IV – Sorbonne) and started working at a production company dedicated to institutional films. He started as a commissioning editor for the documentary unit of France 2 for the Society strand. In 2017, he created and curated the first season of the strand 25 Shades of Documentary. He joined Arte in 2021 and was later appointed head of international coproductions for the Society and Culture Department.
