Suspilne Ukraine: work principles and opportunities for filmmakers

Suspilne Ukraine is the largest independent media company in Ukraine, which has been actively cooperating with Ukrainian independent film producers since 2020. The company focuses on creative historical documentaries and fiction projects. Among the successful projects commissioned by Suspilne are: Collapse: How Ukrainians Destroyed the Evil Empire, The Big Russian Lie, Shchedryk vs «russian world», Melting Pot, Holodomor. Chroniclers, In Search of Skovoroda, and others.


At the presentation, Lukian Halkin and Serhii Nedzelskyi will talk about the prospects of work and opportunities for cooperation between the broadcaster and Ukrainian independent film producers, about Suspilne's plans for documentary production and current cooperation algorithms, co-production opportunities, and prospects for the development of new projects.

Lukian Halkin is a producer and film expert, Head of the Outsourcing and Co-Production Department at Suspilne, Executive Producer of the Suspilne Culture TV channel (2017-2024), co-founder of the Moviegram online media, and a film education lecturer.

Serhii Nedzelskyi is an executive producer at the Outsourcing and Co-Production Department, responsible for the development and implementation of co-production processes at Suspilne. He is the producer of the documentary series Collapse: How Ukrainians Destroyed the Evil Empire. In 2019, he was the head of international cooperation at the Ukrainian State Film Agency (Derzhkino).
