The Concept of the 20th Docudays UA
Image of the future is something we should imagine and bring into reality right now. This is a conversation about justice – the inevitable punishment of those responsible for war crimes, the documentation of the destruction they caused, and the testimonies of their victims. It is about ways of dealing with trauma, preserving the memory of the relatives and friends who died in this war, and conveying it to future generations. It is about the process of reconstruction after our victory – without the plastic swans and painted car tyres on our lawns and communal playgrounds. It is about the genuine, deep modernisation of our cities and towns to make them beautiful, comfortable, modern, accessible, and pedestrian-oriented – for the old, young, and those traumatised by war. This is a conversation about cleaning our water and land of the pollution and mines which the occupiers left behind in large quantities. We will be discussing all of this during the 20th Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, and in this dialogue, we will try to formulate a new Ukrainian dream.
The Visual Design of the 20th Docudays UA
This year, we have chosen an ultra-minimalist design – just a blank white page. We don’t want to prevent anyone from imagining their own ideal future and making up their own dream. To enhance the expressiveness of this design idea, we have created a special font that we will keep with us in future editions of Docudays UA.
The author of the font is Dmytro Rastvortsev.
