The Ukraine War Archive team will take part in a special event at CPH:CONFERENCE 2023 industry platform. The event is dedicated to the potential of documentary films to contribute to the development and strengthening of democracy, freedom, and equality.
CPH:CONFERENCE 2023 is a five-day industry event of the Copenhagen International Documentary Festival, organised in partnership with the top educational initiative Documentary Campus.
This year's event aims to bring together the most important figures in the world of documentary cinema in the face of today's challenges. The organisers offer a range of inspiring talks with visionary thinkers, investigating current themes in documentary filmmaking, and creating an interactive and hands-on platform for exchange with other professionals of our documentary community.
The final, fifth day of CPH:CONFERENCE will be dedicated to cinema and democracy as real changes require more than a cinema hall full of people.
On 24 March, at 11:40-12:00, we invite you to the event Enabling Accountability with the participation of the Ukraine War Archive team. The discussion involves co-founders of the project Roman Bondarchuk, filmmaker and head of Docudays UA Art Department, and Maksym Demydenko, the head of the non-profit company Infoscope.
The discussion will take place in the Social Cinema hall of the Kunsthal Charlottenborg gallery at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts. The event is open to all accredited guests and the public.
"It is important for us that the programme features Ukrainian filmmakers and initiatives who've done so much work for the freedom of all of us. At a time when democracy is questioned globally, the tenacious Ukrainian fight is a reminder that freedom rests on the courage to insist on equality and truth. It is a message of hope, and a duty for all of us to honour the Ukrainian fight for freedom and democracy in Europe," said Tereza Simikova, Head of Industry & Training at CPH:DOX.
