Formula for a successful documentary at Doc Lab

18 March 2023

The Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation is launching DOC LAB POLAND & UKRAINE,a competition for documentary projects from Ukraine for participation in workshops, pitchings and the film market during the Krakow Film Festival.

DOC LAB POLAND is the biggest programme for the development and support of documentary projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The initiative promotes creative and innovative approaches in the film industry. DOC LAB POLAND provides financial, organisational, and expert support for filmmaking.

This year, the initiative expands the borders of its cooperation for the first time and launches a new programme, DOC LAB POLAND & UKRAINE, which will be held on 29 May–3 June. The organisers invite Ukrainian filmmakers to participate in one of the three components: for projects at the development stage, for films at the editing stage, and for searching for co-production at the CEDOC Film Market. The latter was created for producers looking for additional collaboration options. DOC LAB POLAND & UKRAINE is intended for the participation of five Ukrainian teams.

The application deadline is 31 March 2023 (11:59 p.m.). Please send your filled out application forms to [email protected], and your organisational questions to [email protected].

The working language of the workshops and presentations is English. The participation is free of charge for Ukrainian filmmakers; the organisers also compensate for the travel and accommodation costs. The participants will receive industry accreditation for the Krakow Film Festival.
