This year’s DOCU/PRO 2023 is a series of powerful discussions and masterclasses accessible to industry accreditation holders on 3–7 June. We are beginning to tell you about our rich professional platform programme.
On 5 June at 2:00 p.m. there will be an online presentation of the guidelines of the European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films. The establishment of the organisation was announced back in February, and the first open call was already completed by late March. In late May, the Fund will announce its first projects that will receive support. Meanwhile, they are already preparing the next open call, so the event will be interesting for the producers of both documentary and feature films who plan to submit their projects and want to better understand the application terms and the rules of the Fund’s work.
The event will be open to everyone who wishes to attend with pre-registration (working language: English). Participation in the next events will be contingent on industry accreditation.
Manon Duverger, project manager of the European Solidarity Fund, will present the activity of the organization. The fund is financed by 16 film centres or ministries of culture from 13 European countries, together with the European Film Agency Directors’ Association. It aims to support the development and completion of Ukrainian feature films intended for first release in cinemas. This presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
Manon Duverger holds a master's degree in audiovisual law from the Sorbonne University. She has been working at the CNC's Directorate of European and International Affairs since 2017, and she has overseen several co-production support programmes since then. Since its launch in 2023, she has been in charge of the European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films.
Julia Sinkevych is a film producer, a co-founder of the Ukrainian Film Academy and a member of European Film Academy. From 2010 to 2020 she worked as the general producer of the Odesa International Film Festival, managing festival organisation, programming and curation. Previously Julia worked for the distribution and production company Arthouse Traffic as its head of international projects and promotion. Her key works as a film producer include Close Relations by Vitaliy Mansky (2016) and Heatsingers (2019) by Nadia Parfan, Lucky Girl by Marysia Mikitiuk (in postproduction), and Lesya by Nana Janelidze (in pre-production).
