Our work was done in two fields of support: engaging the festival’s international partners and managing the separate fund of the NGO Docudays support initiative to help Ukrainian filmmakers. Here are the results of the last two months (June and July) of the initiative’s work.
In the first field, thanks to the support of our international colleagues and friends from Germany, we were able to provide technical equipment to documentary filmmakers in the amount of 30,641.28 euros.
We continued working with producers from Germany who launched the Archive of War initiative. As a reminder, this project was created by Tanja Georgieva-Waldhauer, Christian Beetz and Mark Bauder in collaboration with Produzentenverband, AG DOK, Deutsche Filmakademie, Deutsche Akademie für Fernsehen, Crew United and Filmmakers for Ukraine.
In addition, the HelpUA action coordinated by Polish Film Academy and European Producers Club provided protective equipment for filmmakers: 10 helmets and 6 vests with bulletproof plates.
In the second field of work, fundraising and managing donations to NGO Docudays accounts, we were also able to help documentary filmmakers in the following areas:
In the period between 1 June and 31 July, we received donations in the amount equivalent to 297,473.63 UAH. The following amounts were spent on help in June and July:
In total, in June and July we supported 27 independent filmmakers as well as documentary filmmakers in associations such as Babylon’13 and Kinodopomoha, whose teams continue to film all over Ukraine every day.
We thank everyone who supports DOCU/HELP and the film community in Ukraine.
At the moment, for the period of the FILMBOOST stipend programme, the DOCU/HELP action in its previous format has temporarily stopped accepting applications for support with equipment of urgent necessity, covering fuel costs, etc.
