The COVID-19 pandemic has become a challenge for all of us. In a short period of time, we have learned how it is to have limited movement, wear masks everywhere, self-isolate, communicate online and avoid physical contact with other people. We have more concerns about our own health and the health of our loved ones. We have developed a fear of losing our jobs, the quality of education. We are asking ourselves “What next?” much more often.
This year, the RIGHTS NOW! human rights programme at the 18th Docudays UA will be held online on 27 March – 4 April. Together with specialists from the civil and public sectors, we will discuss the changes in various domains of life caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and talk about how to defend our right to health.
We will discuss human rights in the new corona crisis reality, the role of immunity in the fight against the pandemic, we will learn about the problems which make people go to psychologists, find out whether Ukrainians take care of their sexual health, how human rights are respected in palliative care, and how orphan patients fight for their right to live a full life.
In addition, we will launch a new human rights campaign For the Rights of Future Mothers and Fathers at Maternity Hospitals and discuss how to defend one’s right to safe and the least traumatic childbirth.
You can join the RIGHTS NOW! events at the DOCUSPACE online cinema and the festival pages on Facebook and YouTube.
All the events of the human rights programme will be accompanied by sign language interpretation, which has become possible thanks to our partnership with Inclusively Friendly.
The 18th Docudays UA is supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
