Filming for Human Rights online workshop on the FIFDH Impact Day

FIFDH Impact Day brings together filmmakers, producers, and philanthropists, with the aim of developing strategies for having a positive impact on the world. This year, the workshop invites the participants to learn more about how documentary films can strengthen human rights movements and contribute to making a more just and sustainable world. Documentary masterclass by Iryna Tsilyk from the Scottish Documentary Institute
When: 29 January
At the masterclass, Iryna Tsilyk will discuss her debut feature documentary The Earth Is Blue as an Orange. The event will be held online, registration required to participate.
Deadline: 30 January
The Film & TV Funding Award is awarded annually to an emerging filmmaker with the most promising pitch for a director-led documentary. The main award is worth £80,000, and the runner-up contribution is £15,000.
Sheffield Documentary MeetMarket
Deadline: 14 February
The Sheffield MeetMarket is one of the world’s largest documentary and factual markets and pitching forums. Selected projects will have the opportunity to meet with over 300+ international funders, broadcasters, distributors and exhibitors, including BBC, NETFLIX, New York Times, Pulse Films, Universal, VICE and many others.
