I would like to share with you a backstage view of making the feature-length documentary Lessons of Love. It is a project that was made in an unusual way, as all the divisions of roles in the crew had to be invented from scratch. I believe it was the only way to make an award-winning film out of something that started as a small artistic project. I’d like to inspire a discussion about the role of the producer in the documentary process, but also about stepping out of your role and its consequences; about the mistakes you wish to avoid; and why you can only make a film this way once in your life.
