Melanie Iredale has been involved in Sheffield Doc/Fest since 2010, was appointed as Deputy Director in 2014, served as Interim Director of the 2019 edition, and co-curates the Rhyme & Rhythm strand. Sheffield Doc/Fest is a world-leading documentary festival and marketplace, as well as a creative space for discovery, debate, collaboration and inspiration, which takes place in the UK each June.
Melanie’s background is as a film curator and festival producer. As Director of Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, she commissioned moving image works, installations and performances which went on to tour to festivals and galleries worldwide. She is on the Development Forum for BFI FAN’s This Way Up conference, is regularly invited to speak on the topic of diversity, inclusion and ethics in the industry, and has participated on juries including Nordisk Panorama, ZagrebDox and One World Media
The festival pass gives access to the rich 21st Docudays UA offline programme, which includes the best documentaries worldwide and meetings with their authors. It is valid from 31 May to 6 June at Zhovten Cinema.
