The days when girls sewed skirts for their dolls while boys constructed chairs in separate craft classes are starting to recede into the past. Legally, the education system is being actively reformed, and school curricula are no longer ignoring the issues of discrimination. However, how do we keep up with these changes and comprehend them, if the educational workers themselves have not been taught that? Where do we start conversations about discrimination with teenagers, and which methods do we use?
During this lecture, you will receive all the necessary theory and practical tools to implement it. In particular, you will hear how gender is different from sex; what the gender-sensitive approach to education is; how to recognise gender stereotypes; which parts of everyday vocabulary are actually discriminatory and what can be done about it.
