Who among us didn’t break the law when they were a kid? Probably each of us has their own stories about broken windows in a neighbour’s house or stolen cherries. However, not all of these stories end happily. The children who have committed even a minor offence are often sentenced to actual prison terms. After this, they can no longer fully return to society – and often they commit more serious crimes.
A year ago, Ukraine launched the pilot project ‘Restorative Programme for Underage People Suspected of Committing a Crime’. In the first year of the project’s work alone, 50 children were prevented from undergoing criminal trials. This means 50 saved lives. Hear their stories and find out how to save even more children!
