MEET PROFESSIONALS! Individual meetings with the powerful film platforms of the world

18 February 2019

This year, our Festival’s Industry Platform will have a MEET PROFESSIONALS program. The program allows you to sign up for individual meetings with programmers from international festivals, producers, representatives of international sales agencies and foundations. Karlovy Vary, DOK Leipzig, Visions du Réel, Beldocs, Sheffield Doc/Fest, One World, the Krakow Film Festival… The sign up to meet the representatives of these powerful film platforms is open only to those who are going to have the industry accreditation.

Traditionally, the Industry Platform of the Festival is going to have as its guests Kenan Aliev and Sergei Trofimov, representatives of the independent Russian-speaking online platform Current Time; Brigid O’Shea, who has been the head of the powerful industry platform DOK Leipzig for years; Melanie de Vocht, who works at the IDFA Bertha Fund supporting over 600 documentaries projects and film organisations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle-East and Latin America; Jasmin Basic, the programmer for the Visions du Réel festival, which actively supports auteur and experimental documentary films.

This year, we also invited festival programmers Selin Murat (RIDM, Quebec’s only film festival dedicated to creative documentaries) and Claudia Maci (Festival dei Popoli). As well as Martin Horyna, the festival programmer for Karlovy Vary IFF; Barbara Orlicz-Szczypuła, the producer of the Krakow Film Market and the Krakow Film Festival’s industry platform; Cem Öztüfekçi, the Head of Industry at Beldocs; Sarah Dawson, a Film Programme Manager for Sheffield Doc/Fest; and Ondřej Kamenický, the director of the famous International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival One World!

You will also have a chance to sign up for an individual meeting with Malgorzata Staron, a Polish film producer; and Olivier Tournaud, the Sales & Acquisitions Manager at Cinephil (Cinephil’s recent titles include The Distant Barking of Dogs by Simon Lereng Wilmont). And to sign up for an individual meeting with Stephan Riguet, who created AndanaFilms, an international sales company dedicated to independent documentary films.

The festival guests will also include Lejla Dedic, a producer for Al Jazeera Balkans; Marta Duzhbabel, the Head of Documentary Commissioning in TVP; and Andrea Slovakova, who curates programs of experimental documentaries and the international conference on distribution of experimental films in Jihlava.
