Five years ago this month, Russia occupied Crimea. Since then, Crimean human rights advocates have been documenting human rights violations, collecting evidence for national and international trials, protecting victims in courts, and sometimes falling victims of persecution themselves because of these activities.
What is the fate of Crimean human rights advocates who had to leave the occupied peninsula because of threats and pressure? Is it possible to defend human rights in exile? What are the threats faced by activists who remained in Crimea? How can we support them?
The event will also involve the presentation of a book Crimean Album. Stories of Human Rights Advocates with personal stories by Crimean human rights advocates.
