CIVIL PITCH Announces Its Jury

Meet the jury of the national Ukrainian competition CIVIL PITCH: Civil Activism Films, which was launched to bring together civil sector activists and documentary filmmakers so that they could create films aimed to facilitate social change. The Jury will choose the best three projects based on the pitching which will take place on March 28 at the Docudays UA. The total prize fund is $22,000.

Director of the WATCH DOCS

 

Co-founder and Director of the WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film International Film Festival in Warsaw, one of the largest human rights film festivals in Europe, along with the traveling festival in around 40 Polish localities and WATCH DOCS. Author of the concept behind FUTURE DOCS, a European platform for creative encounters of human rights defenders and documentary filmmakers. Co-founder of the Social Institute of Film foundation and its President of the Board. And also a Vice President of the Board of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Poland – one of Europe’s leading human rights NGOs.

Strategic communication officer Pact Ukraine, USAID/ENGAGE program

 

Strategic communication officer Pact Ukraine, USAID/ENGAGE program. Journalist, poet, radio host, scriptwriter, popularizer of science. Author and radio presenter of two programs on Hromadske radio. Сo-founder of the popular-science platform Brain&Ukraine and founder of the platform Kyiv Market. 15 years’ experience in journalism on the culture and social topics. Master’s degree in literature in Kyiv National Shevchenko University. Diploma of the Digital Future of Journalism program in Kyiv Mohyla Academy. Jury member of popular science award for journalists Tech Today Awards and social and literature award Voices of Ukraine from Kyiv Post - Porsche Ukraine.

 

Roman Bondarchuk

filmmaker, Art Director at Docudays UA

 

Roman has graduated from the Kyiv State University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television. His teacher was Yuriy Illenko, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Poetic Cinema school. Roman has created a number of short films, documentaries, and music videos. His debut feature documentary, Ukrainian Sheriffs, received the jury award at the IDFA 2015 and the grand prix of the Docs Against Gravity (Gdynia), and it was delegated by the Ukrainian Oscar Committee to compete for the Academy Awards in 2016. Currently Roman works on his first feature film Volcano.
