On November 21, the Ukrainian Film Club in Berlin invites everyone to attend the screening of the film Dixie Land by Roman Bondarchuk. It is one of the undisputed audience favorites of this year’s selection of DOCU/HIT films.
On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, the audience in Berlin will have a chance to watch a new documentary by Roman Bondarchuk. Last year, Bondarchuk was nominated to Oscar from Ukraine with his film Ukrainian Sheriffs. And this year, the film Dixie Land became the best Ukrainian film at the Odessa International Film Festival 2017 and received a Golden Duke. These days, the director is finishing his work on his feature debut Volcano.
Dixie Land is a story of children’s jazz band from Kherson, a film about the first complex questions of youth. About the way a dream can capture you, make you big and motivate you to change. The film is a bright journey from childhood into the adult world.
The event will be moderated by the film club curator Ivanna Kozak. After the screening, the audience will have a chance to talk to the special guest of the evening, the jazz musician Yefym Kamkhin, one of the students of Semen Ryvkin, who organized the jazz band in Kherson.
Location: ACUDkino, Veteranenstraße 21, 10119 Deutschland
Time: 19:00
The event is supported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Germany and Docudays UA.
