Special screening and discussion organized by International Committee of the Red Cross In times of war, many people experience severe psychological problems after going through traumatic events. Depression, anxiety or even suicide are only some of the consequences. During this event a humanitarian psychologist will discuss the mental wounds of war that can kill without leaving any visible scars. The talk will be accompanied by the screening of Jean-Paul Mari’s movie “Without Apparent Injuries" (63 minutes, 2009, Mano a mano).
Farhana Javid
Farhana Javid is a psychologist working for the International Committee of the Red Cross since 2011. Farhana works with communities living close to the front line in the area of Sloviansk. She provides psychological help to those who are affected by the conflict. Her past experience includes developing and implementing specialized programs for first aid workers, detainees, women and children affected with sexual violence. She obtained Master’s Degree in Psychology in 2003 at University of Madras. Before coming to Ukraine, Farhana worked in India and Switzerland.
