“In 2013 we realised that despite the numerous women graduating in film schools, only 21% had the chance to direct and sustain a career. We founded EWA Network to amend this situation and help emergent filmmakers to connect and make films.”
Alexia Muíños Ruiz, filmmaker and EWA’s Deputy Director, will present the key findings of the European research on women directors (revealing not only the numbers, but how women perceive problems and barriers to access and work in the film industry), and discuss how new filmmakers can survive by using technology and networking.
