The best years of their lives lay ahead of them. But in their 20s and 30s, instead of settling down and living a peaceful life, they decided to rebel. And those who they rebelled against tried to destroy their marriages; threatened to throw their children into orphanages, or do something bad to them if they did not agree to cooperate with the security service. They were offered the chance to move to other countries if they refrained from actions that would harm the system. But nothing could stop them.
