During this seminar, we will discuss important concepts of international humanitarian law, which is also called ‘the law of war’. For example, what does this law say about using landmines, protecting civilians and the humane treatment of prisoners? Special attention will be dedicated to verbal formulations which can have important legal consequences, as well as to the protection of journalists at war. The participants will learn about new ways to diversify reporting about human suffering during armed conflicts.
Representatives of the ICRC: Khrystyna Nechayeva, Jan Romer (consultants on legal issues) and Marie-Servane de Jonker (communications coordinator of ICRC).
Organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine
