Mini-workshop ‘Protecting the rights of citizens who suffered from the conflict in Eastern Ukraine (war prisoners, hostages, injured)’

Organized by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Human Rights Group ‘SICH’ NGO, Forpost, Blue Bird NGO, the Legal Hundred.

 

During the event, the existing problems and their solutions will be outlined. The workshop will teach how to compose recommendations for the government to optimise legislation to protect the rights of the target groups; we will discuss the victim’s roadmap, interaction with government institutions, rights and guarantees. In addition, a booklet on The Rights of a Prisoner of War by experts from the Ministry of Defence and the Security Service will be presented (together with the Sich Human Rights Group and the Legal Hundred). In addition, a draft law ‘On the status of victims of terrorist activities in Eastern Ukraine and ensuring their protection’ will be presented.

      The festival pass gives access to the rich 21st Docudays UA offline programme, which includes the best documentaries worldwide and meetings with their authors. It is valid from 31 May to 6 June at Zhovten Cinema.

      From 3 May:
      Pass price: UAH 800.
      Student pass: UAH 500.

      From 30 May:
      Pass price: UAH 1,200.
      Student pass: UAH 700.

      To purchase the pass, please enter your given name and surname, email, and phone number. If the payment was successful, you will receive an email with the necessary information and a certificate. The certificate will not indicate your name or surname.

      If you are a student at school or university, please indicate your student ID number. Internally displaced persons who are studying and do not have such a document can indicate the IDP certificate number.
