Nuclear disasters, wars over oil and gas, climate change and ever-increasing energy consumption: we have reached an important crossroads. To keep on going like this is not an option. But how can we meet our energy needs without destroying our own existence? Is there such a thing as clean energy and efficient technology? And if so, why aren’t we using it? Energized takes viewers on a journey through the crazy world of energy. From the perspective of those affected, as well as the pioneers and critics, this film documents the desperate attempts to tap the planet’s last oil and gas deposits and to conceal the risks of nuclear energy. It also sheds light on the impact of the gigantic water and solar power plants, debunking popular myths about renewable energy, and takes a look at some other solutions which cannot be put into practice.
