From May 10 till 23 the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival invites to an open air screenings of this year’s DOCU/RIOT program. The events will take place at the Master Klass House of Education and Culture (vul. Lavrska, 16-A).
On May 16, the screening of Bahrain, the Forbidden Country (2012, France, 52’, directed by Stephanie Lamorré) will be held. When shown at Docudays UA – 2014, the film received a 10-minute standing ovation .This Friday, we’ll have a ‘mirrored screening’ and compare the Bahrainian and Ukrainian experiences. Taking into consideration the rainy forecast, we welcome the viewers to the Master Klass’s grand hall (2nd floor). Human rights advocate Maksym Butkevych will moderate the discussion.
Please note that the screening starts at 9:30 PM. All Docudays UA screenings are free of charge!
The last DOCU/RIOT screening, Demonstration by Viktor Kossakovski (2013, Russia-Spain, 70’) will be held on May 23.
The Artforum also includes such events as jazz, academic, and alternative music concerts, exhibitions of paintings, graphics, and art photography, theater shows and literature meetings, and film screenings. The audience can participate in educational and discussion programs.
Docudays UA will present three films: Everyday Rebellion, Bahrain, the Forbidden Country, and Demonstration.
