"Inconvenient films" about Ukraine will be shown in Vilnius

29 October 2014

On October 22–30, the 8th Human Rights Film Festival "Inconvenient Films" will be held in Vilnius. In cooperation with Docudays UA, it will present a special program Ukraine.doc.

"It has been almost a year since Euromaidan started. There is no doubt that revolution and war have irreversibly changed Ukrainian society, especially its new generation. It is difficult to draw conclusions at the moment, because any day Ukraine can be drawn into a full-scale war. However, Docudays UA selected several recent Ukrainian films that can show the international audience a picture of our reality as seen by young independent filmmakers," explains the programs' conception.

The program includes four films:

The 2014 Docudays UA's opening film Euromaidan. Rough Cut. Directors: Volodymyr Tykhyi, Andriy Lytvynenko, Kateryna Hornostai, Roman Bondarchuk, Yulia Hontaruk, Andrey Kiselyov, Roman Liubyi, Oleksandr Techynskyi, Oleksiy Solodunov, Dmitry Stoykov. The project has recently started its Facebook page.

Crepuscule by Valentyn Vasyanovych;

Positive by Polina Kelm;

Meat Factory by Piotr Armianovski.
