Vladimir Kozlov was born in 1956 in Minsk, Belarus. He studied history at the Belarus State University. He worked at Belarusfilm Studio as assistant director (1978-1992). He took courses for assistant and second unit directors at the VGIK (Moscow). In 1992 he started to play and stage performances for French theatrical groups. In 2002 he made his debut in documentary cinema. He made films for French TV. Since 1992 he has been working in France and Russia, making documentaries.
