Справді, канадська компанія Standard Silver запускає амбітний проект відкритого кар'єра з видобутку срібла у покинутій місцевості Міна Піркітас, що на висоті 4500 м. Ця копальня має стати однією з найпродуктивніших у Латинській Америці. Standard Silver отримує монополію на видобуток корисних копалин, порушуючи хистку рівновагу життя племені коллас і прирікаючи його на злидні. Аборигени стають жертвами глобалізації через новий видобувний бум, пов’язаний зі зниженням валютного курсу металів, такого важливого у технологічному розвитку сучасного суспільства.

Ines Compan studied biology at the university in Toulouse and in Paris, and then turned to documentary filmmaking after completing training course at the Ateliers Varan. Her first documentary La vie devant toi she produced in 1999. Then, in 2001 she settled permanently in the world of documentary as the director producing Armoise, Ambre de l'Atlas, the story about workers of the southern Moroccan distillery who produced essential oil which are the envy of many French pharmaceutical companies. A year later, comes the documentary Du Vent dans le voile the revolt of young urban Yemeni. Subsequently, it is collaborating with Le Hamac Rouge, association audiovisual production, training and dissemination based in the Tarn, which takes Ines Compan in 2010 in the highlands of north-western Argentina with A Ciel ouvert, a metaphor for the current Argentine society.
